If the player drags his foot after each shot he should use foot gear that has raised toe lips which are designed for the toe dragging player.
Those who drag their shoe wear down the front of their footwear prematurely so the raised lip helps extend the life of the shoe. But people who need athletic foot gear for the game of tennis itself need foot gear that offers support. They also need foot gear that is comfortable and durable because the court takes a toll on the shoe.
